ARGYLE Street, Maclean has been transformed into a small river after a water pipe burst just after 9am Wednesday morning.

Water began flowing from the entrance to the Maclean IGA carpark with one witness saying it was creating a sinkhole.

Fortunately, a work crew from Council Valley Council arrived shortly after, shutting off the supply of water and commencing immediate repairs.

It's understood the water supply will be reconnected by the afternoon.
