Valley to celebrate achievements

WHILE Australia Day may seem distant, now is the time to nominate someone from the Clarence Valley who deserves recognition for their achievement.

Nominations for the categories of Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Local Hero and Community Achievement close in less than two weeks, so let the Clarence Valley Council know who has inspired you through their achievements and contribution.

Mayor Richie Williamson encouraged everyone to have a think about the contributions people they knew were making and nominate them for an award.

"Being nominated for a Clarence Valley Australia Day Awards is a great honour," he said.

Nomination forms and are available at http://www.clarence.nsw.gov.au or from the council's customer service centres in Grafton and Maclean.

Nominations close 4.30pm, Friday November 21.
