NOMINATIONS are now open for the 2015 Clarence Valley Australia Day Awards.

The awards recognise individuals and community groups that make significant contributions in areas such as sports, the arts, volunteering, the environment, or or just a great act of assistance, compassion, generosity and community spirit,

Nomination categories are:

  • Citizen of the year - academic, professional and personal achievements and how this has contributed to the Clarence Valley in general.
  • Young Citizen of the Year - outstanding contributions and achievements of citizens to the age of 25 at the time of nominations closing.
  • Community Achievement - community groups and organisations within the Clarence Valley community.
  • Local Hero - For the devoted 'on the ground' unsung heroes of our community.

Nominate online or pick up a form from Clarence Valley Council Customer Service Centres in Prince St, Grafton or River St, Maclean.

Nominations close 4.30pm Friday, November 21.
