Man charged after investigation into Dorrigo road fatality
A MAN has been charged following inquiries into a fatal crash near Dorrigo last month.
About 4.50pm on Friday, February 26, police and emergency services were called after a Holden Rodeo and a Mitsubishi Express collided head-on Waterfall Way.
The passenger of the Mitsubishi - a 19-year-old woman - was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for serious head injuries, before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
The woman died about 8pm the following Sunday after her life support was switched off.
The 19-year-old female driver of the Mitsubishi was taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital with minor injuries and later released.
The 65-year-old male driver of the Rodeo was treated for minor injuries before undergoing mandatory testing.
Police from the Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and an investigation was commenced.
As a result of their inquiries, the 65-year-old man was arrested at Coffs Harbour Police Station yesterday.
He was charged with dangerous driving causing death before being granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Monday, April 4.
Inquiries into the collision are continuing.
