Maclean's camphor Laurel tree debate deferred

DEBATE on a proposal to remove the four camphor laurel trees from McLachlan Park, Maclean has been deferred until next week.

Two residents, Ian McLennan and Lyn Overton, made deputations to Tuesday's Clarence Valley corporate governance and works committee meeting calling on council to spare the trees.

But council voted to defer discussion of the issue until next week because the councillor who moved the motion, Margaret McKenna, was not a member of that committee and could not take part in the debate.
