‘I was left in a world of pain’

A YOUNG dad from Wagait Beach has shared the horrific catalogue of injuries he suffered in a serious motorbike crash.

Spencer Jack, 36, was left in a "world of pain" when his bike crashed at the Hidden Valley Raceway last Sunday.

In the accident he broke all of his left-side ribs, left collar bone, four fingers, fractured his c7 vertebra, punctured a lung and was left deaf in one ear.

"Everything was a blur after it happened," he said.

"I remember regaining consciousness in the back of the ambulance while the paramedics were trying to inflate my punctured lung - all I could think of was my son Oscar."

While Mr Jack recovers over the next month he will unable to work and is struggling to provide for his partner and 16-month-old son.

"I was sitting in my hospital bed wondering how am I going to take care of them when I can barely walk for 15 minutes at a time," he said.

"I'm not the type of ask others for help but I thought I should put my pride aside and do what I gotta do.

"I started a GoFundMe to see if I could raise a few hundred bucks to help us get by while I heal up."

In five days over $2800 has been raised via GoFundMe to help Spencer get back on his feet.

"I never imagined there were people out in the community who would help us out this much - I'm absolutely overwhelmed," he said.

"I want to thank everyone for their generosity during what has been a really challenging time for us."
