Friendly takeover at Grafton parkrun
GRAFTON Physio are invading Junction Hill, and this weekend, they're doing it on foot.
The team will "take over" the Grafton parkrun at Barner Park, Junction Hill this Saturday, and for principal physiotherapist Jane-Anne Burns, it is something that is easy to support.
"It's a great community event that has a focus on health, and getting up and doing it," she said.
"It's great for physios to support prevention - being fit and healthy is better than being broken and coming to see a physio."
The entire team is filling all of the volunteer positions on the day for the 5km course, and there will even be a bit of friendly rivalry in the main event.
"Two of our physios Scott and Cellia have both won the event individually so there's going to be a bit of elbowing going on in the race," she said.
"But the event is all about running, walking, skipping, walking your dog, pushing your pram; it's just about being healthy and doing something good for you."
Grafton Physio and Sport are the major sponsor of the park run, and will be providing free services on the day, including a free-warmup, a free cycling cooldown, as well as a physio advice tent and massage table on the day. There'll also be giveaways on the day.
To participate, register first on the parkrun website and bring your barcode on the day. The free warm-up starts at 6.50am for a 7am start to the run.
