Former Grafton umpire gets nod from the NSW association
FORMER Grafton cricket umpire Darren Goodger has been appointed the executive officer of the NSW Cricket Umpires and Scorers' Association (NSWCUSA).
Goodger, an experienced Sydney first-grade umpire, stood in the 2006-07 Ashes tour match between NSW and England at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
He has also been appointed to seven domestic limited-overs matches and was reserve umpire for four one-day internationals and one Twenty20 international.
Goodger joined the NSWCUSA in 2008 as education and development manager.
In addition to this role, he also recently took on the responsibilities of the state director of umpiring.
He has stood in a number of Sydney first-grade finals and has won the George Borwick Memorial Award for outstanding contribution to the NSWCUSA seven times in the past eight seasons.
He was awarded life membership of the association in 2009.
