Woman trapped following horror smash
UPDATE 2PM: The driver of a vehicle that collided with a power pole outside Lawrence has been airlifted to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with multiple injuries.
The 25-year-old woman was taken to hospital via Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter this morning after her vehicle left the road and collided with a power pole.
The vehicle, which was travelling along Lawrence Road, Lawrence, sustained significant damage to the front with the woman trapped inside as a result.
A NSW Police spokesperson said a triple zero call was received at approximately 9.35am, with multiple emergency services responding to the scene located approximately 500 metres south of Sportsmans Creek Bridge, Lawrence.
While emergency services personnel worked to free the woman and render medical assistance, Coffs/Clarence Police and Clarence Valley Council workers provided traffic control, including the closure of Lawrence Road between Riverbank Road and Greens Lane.
Inquiries are continuing into the incident.
EMERGENCY services have responded to a single-vehicle crash north of Grafton this morning.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said a triple-0 call was received around 9.35am following the crash at Lower Southgate on Lawrence Rd.
Emergency services, including NSW Police, NSW Ambulance, NSW Fire and Rescue and the State Emergency Services are now on the scene.
The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter has also been tasked to the incident.
Initial reports suggest the sole occupant, a female, was trapped in the vehicle.
A section of Lawrence Rd is closed to traffic, however a detour is in place.
